Rockpool Residency: Unseen Worlds

An offsite Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf Exhibition

Rockpool Residency: Unseen Worlds is a collaborative project engaging with artists, scientists, ecologists, and perspectives from First Nations Australians. The project aspires to a more connected and collective sense of place. It celebrates unique intertidal and broader ecologies and the enduring cultural significance of the land.

Join us for a site-responsive art and event day centred around Nielsen Park, Vaucluse, situated on the lands of the Gadigal and Birrabirragal People.

The Art and Event Day features a pop-up exhibition featuring works by contemporary Sydney artists Blake Bridgewater, Marianna Ebersoll, Aurelia King, Maya Martin-Westheimer, Lisa Myeong-Joo, Emma Pinsent, and Anna Seymour.

Guests can also engage in talks by Dr Shane Ingrey and the Project Restore team from the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS). Additionally, there will be a rockpool ramble with Will Jones and a bird/ecology tour led by Renée Ferster Levy.

By nurturing collaborations among artists, designers, residents, cultural practitioners, marine biologists, and ecologists, Rockpool Residency: Unseen Worlds reveals the multifaceted significance of this unique Country.

Floorplan Studio pays our respect to Indigenous people. We acknowledge their enduring connections to Nielsen Park, Sydney, and so-called Australia. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.

Rockpool Residency is by Floorplan Studio, in partnership with Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf, Woollahra Woollahra Council, and Create NSW.
