Born in Washington state, I spent the first 14 years of my life in the US, staying with family in Greece three months out of every year. I’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from America and particularly my summers in Greece. My yiayia, Elli, who’s 97 years old and lives in Athens, has painted her entire life. When I visit we often paint together. In 2012, I moved to Australia and attended Newtown high school of the performing arts. There I studied dance and drama, in year 10 I discovered painting. I graduated high school in 2016 and went straight into a Bachelors degree of fine arts at the National Art School where I majored in painting. I’m now two years out of school and painting every day. Waiting for the day I can go to Greece again and paint with my yiayia.
